Fannie Mae has updated the Uniform Residential Loan Application and the Uniform Underwriting and Transmittal Summary.
The updates were announced Friday in seller-servicer Announcement 09-21.
Revisions to the loan application, known as Form 1003, include the addition of “Loan Originator ID” and “Loan Origination Company ID” fields as required under the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008.
The revised form will be required on applications taken on or after Jan. 1, 2010.
In states where the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry has not been implemented by Jan. 1, 2010, the identification numbers of originators and companies will not be required until those states have made the transitions. Also, because the system of license and registry for federally insured depository institutions and their subsidiaries has not been finalized, Fannie plans to subsequently address how tracking will be handled for those institutions.
Changes to the Uniform Underwriting and Transmittal Summary — also known as Form 1008 — enable the identification of new project classifications for condominiums, planned unit developments and cooperatives. The updated form will be required for the Refi Plus program and all manually underwritten loans as of Jan. 1, 2010.
