More than two dozen mortgage lending executives recently accepted new positions within the industry. Among their new employers are the nation’s largest lenders, many smaller firms and commercial mortgage companies.

Rebecca Mairone was named as Bank of America’s national mortgage outreach executive, an announcement said. She is leading an initiative to ramp up a community outreach program for distressed borrowers. Mairone will report to BofA Executive Vice President Terry Laughlin. She has numerous leadership positions within the company’s homeownership retention and default servicing programs.

JPMorgan Chase named Matthew Biben as its general counsel for home lending, senior legal adviser, as of March 14, according to Law.com. Prior to joining JPMorgan, Biben had reportedly served as deputy general counsel for The Bank of New York Mellon.

The co-founder of
Foundation Financial Group, Kris S. Williams, has been seated as the president of the Jacksonville, Fla.-based lender. Williams has served as chief operating officer since its inception in 2003. Prior to founding Foundation, Williams worked with co-founder Paul V. Scott for six years at a national mortgage lender, the March 4 announcement said.

PHH Mortgage parent PHH Corp. announced this month its chief financial officer Sandra E. Bell is leaving to pursue other opportunities. David Coles has been appointed to serve as interim CFO while the search for Bell’s successor ensues. Coles has previously worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. and currently serves as a managing director for Alvarez & Marsa, according to a March 1 company announcement.

NewDay Financial named Gavin Brady as its president, VA mortgage division. Brady has been in the mortgage banking business for over 30 years, most recently serving as senior VP at Financial Freedom, according to a March 16 news release.

In addition, NewDay appointed Doug Douglas as its CFO. Previously, Douglas was EVP of business processes for American Home Mortgage, the March 8 announcement said. The Fulton, Md.-based lender said Douglas has more than three decades experience in the mortgage industry.

RPM Mortgage Inc. welcomed Barry Habib this month as its chief strategy officer. Habib has over 30 years mortgage industry experience and has been recognized as one of the top 10 mortgage professionals in the United States, producing over $2 billion in loans, the March 14 announcement said.

An announcement this month from TMS Funding touted the promotion of Erik Martin as the company’s national sales manager of its retail channel. Martin has 15 years mortgage management experience and was most recently underwriting manager at Total Mortgage Services.

Lisa Schreiber has been named EVP of wholesale lending at TMS Funding. Schreiber previously served as chief strategy officer for NetMore America, according to a January company announcement. Both Martin and Schreiber will report directly to John Walsh, president of Milford, Conn.-based Total Mortgage.

Sarah Hulbert is the new retail business development manager for 1st Reverse Mortgage USA, the company announced this month. The Lakewood, Colo.-based 1st Reverse said Hulbert has over 18 years experience in reverse mortgage at various lenders including Seattle Mortgage Co. and Senior Financial Corp.

Seven new regional account managers have been appointed at ICBA Mortgage Solutions, according to an announcement this month. James R. Loving will manage the Midwest region; Joel Dulmage, the Central region; Diane Keane, the Southeast region; Carrie Felix, the upper Midwest region, Debra Noguera, the South Central region; Whit Brame, the Mid-Atlantic region; and Michael Bender will cover the Northeast region. Mike Azzarello, executive vice president of national sales will lead the new sales team for the Denver, Colo.-based lender, a March 16 news release said.

Carlos Coloma has been appointed Miami-Dade area manager for Kislak Mortgage. Coloma’s resume includes being a top originator for Wells Fargo and Chase Manhattan, according to Miami Lakes, Fla.-based Kislak’s March 14 announcement.

Real Estate Mortgage Network Inc. last month announced the appointment of Greg Janicki as Southeast regional manager. With more than 20 years mortgage industry experience, Janicki will oversee a team of more than 100 people in the company’s Georgia and Florida branches. He will report to Rick Floyd, managing director.

This month, River Edge, N.J.-based Real Estate Mortgage Network said it hired Tom Conklin as western division sales manager. Conklin will oversee wholesale growth along the West Coast from an office in San Diego. Conklin’s three decades in the industry includes stints at Home Savings of America, North American Mortgage Co. and Washington Mutual.

Kevin Christopher has been appointed the new director of mortgage sales for Harris. Previously, Christopher served as regional sales manager and VP in the mortgage division of U.S. Bank. The Chicago, Ill.-based financial services company said in a Jan. 27 news release that Christopher will lead and execute the bank’s mortgage sales strategy.

Gershman Mortgage announced the addition of VPs Mike Duggan and Amy Michel last month. Michel has been Gershman’s assistant treasurer for ten years, and Duggan joins Gershman with 18 years experience in the financial industry, according to a recent South County Times article.

WR Starkey Mortgage named Mary Wells as the new manager of its Cherry Creek office, according to a Jan. 30 news release. The Denver, Colo.-based company said Wells has more than 25 years mortgage lending experience and has held leadership positions with Universal Lending Corp., CTX Mortgage and Merchants Mortgage & Trust.

Among commercial mortgage executive appointments, NewOak Capital announced that David Eyzenberg is now managing director and head of commercial real estate. The Manhattan, N.Y.-based company said Eyzenberg was previously the president of Prodigious Capital Group.

Gary Cohen has joined the production team as a senior vice president for NorthMarq Capital. Previously, Cohen managed an office for Centerline Capital as a top producing broker, the Parsippany, N.J.-based lender said.

The newly hired senior vice president for CWCapital’s Boston, Mass.-based corporate office is Phillip Brooks. The executive will also lead the opening of a Richmond, Va. office for CWCapital. Brooks has worked at Fannie Mae as the director of multifamily loan product development and was also senior VP for Berkadia Commercial Mortgage.

Mark Plenge, also formerly of Berkadia Commercial, has also been hired by CWCapital as a VP – senior loan officer. Plenge will help the expansion of the company’s West Coast lending platform and its joint venture with Apartment Realty Advisors, the March company announcement said.
