Executives at dozens of mortgage service providers have been recruited, appointed or promoted in just the first two months of this year. While there was lots of activity in the appraisal sector — executives found new jobs at a lead generation companies, law firms and default servicers.

Anthony “Buddy” Piszel resigned as CoreLogic’s CFO but will stay on until June 1 in a non-executive capacity to assist in the transition. Piszel, who served as CFO for Freddie Mac, recently received a Wells notice from the U.S. Security Exchange Commission regarding disclosure matters during his time there. The notice indicates that the SEC is considering recommending a civil enforcement action against Piszel.

Both the company and Piszel agreed it would be best if he left CoreLogic to handle this matter, according to a Feb. 10 press release.

Michael A. Rasic, senior vice president of finance and accounting, will serve as interim CFO for CoreLogic until a successor is named. Former Standard Pacific Corp. CFO Andrew H. Parnes will also assist in the transition, the company said.

To lead its appraisal management unit, CoreLogic chose Greg Dennis. He was previously the VP of collateral valuation solutions at MDA Lending Solutions. Dennis has over 30 years experience in the valuations and financial services industries, according to the Santa Ana, Calif.-based company’s January announcement.

Also in the appraisal world, Luke Pille was hired as national sales manager of StreetLinks Lenders Solutions, a statement Tuesday said. Pille previously worked at Lenders One for seven years.

“As a preferred appraisal partner at Lenders One, StreetLinks had a great relationship with Luke while he ran the national programs department,” said Steve Haslam, chief executive officer of the MortgageDaily.com advertiser, in the statement.

Scott Stein has been appointed the new president and CEO of XetusOne, the Palo alto, Calif-based company announced in January. Stein had previously served as the company’s vice president of sales and marketing.

The new VP of business development at LendingTree LLC is Bruce Cook, a March 1 announcement indicated. Cook, who will lead the development of new strategic initiatives and partnerships, has 12 years’ experience in lead generation.

ServiceLink last week named Marco Brenes to SVP, enterprise relationships and strategy. Brenes joined the Pittsburgh, Penn.-based mortgage technology solutions provider after 18 years at Lenders Processing Services as its SVP of national sales.

Michael Richardson was named BrokerPriceOpinion.com’s president earlier this month. Richardson is the author of An American Epidemic, Mortgage Fraud … a Serious Business and previously served as managing director of due diligence at Allonhill and as president of PreventMortgageFraud.com, the Westminster, Colo.-based valuation services said.

Cherry, Bekaert & Holland LLP this month announced the addition of Cid Hickman as partner for its North Carolina practice. Hickman has more than 21 years of experience serving clients from various financial institutions ranging from startups to bank holding companies exceeding $2 billion in assets, according to a company press release.

Mark DeGennaro was appointed managing director of The Collingwood Group. DeGennaro previously held positions in investment banking and executive management, and was an attorney with White & Case in New York, according to last week’s announcement.

Collingwood also announced the promotion of Mary Lou Christy to managing director of the organization. Christy previously held the SVP position with the Washington, D.C.-based advisory group. Christy previously held several executive-level positions at Fannie Mae.

Credit Plus Inc. recently named Don Clement Jr. its southeast regional sales manager. Clement has been a company account executive since 2003, when he merged his regional credit reporting agency, Advanced Credit Service, Inc. with Credit Plus – a Mortgage Daily advertiser.

Hammerhouse LLC announced the addition of Grant Lupo as Strategic Growth Partner. Lupo will report to Drew Waterhouse, managing director of the Mission Viejo, Calif.-based firm. Previously, Lupo held began his mortgage industry career over 12 years ago with AccuBank/National City Mortgage, the Feb. 7 announcement said.

ETMortgage Harmony Corp. named David G. Kittle to its advisory board, and appointed Marlisa Senchack as senior vice president of product management and strategic outreach, according to a Dec. 2 announcement.

Kittle is currently senior director of industry relations for IMARC. Previously, Kittle served as the 2009 chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association.

Senchack spent 20 years at Fannie Mae in various management positions. Her new role includes leading the product planning and marketing, the company said.

John Burnett recently accepted the chief operating officer position for Denver, Colo.-based Integrated Asset Services LLC. Burnett has previously held senior management roles at IBM-Lender Business Process Services, Wilshire Credit Corp., Wells Fargo Bank and Washington Mutual Bank, according to a Feb. 10 announcement.

Charlie Piper last month was named Prommis Solutions’ COO. The Atlanta, Ga.-based company said Piper will assume responsibility for all its operating units. Piper was previously the managing director for ePay.

Prommis also appointed Ed Hill as senior vice president of Trustee Operations. Prior to joining Prommis, he worked as managing director for Lender Processing Services.

Prommis partner Johnson & Freedman LLC last month promoted January N. Taylor to partner. The Atlanta, Ga.-based firm is a member of the Fannie Mae retained attorney network and Freddie Mac designated counsel program. Taylor was previously an associate attorney with Brock & Scott, PLLC and acted as vice president of development for Shore Land Investments LLC.

David Vida is LenderLive Network Inc.’s new chief strategy officer and executive VP of loan servicing.

The Dallas, Texas-based servicing solutions network announced at the MBA National Mortgage Servicing conference its expansion into private-labeled sub-servicing and specialty servicing, which will be lead by Vida. Prior to joining LenderLive, Vida helped found Acqura Loan Servicing and Strategic Recovery Group, and City Mortgage Services. He has also held senior roles at H&R Block and Option One Mortgage Corp.

Mitch Cohen earlier this month was named Martopia Public Relations Group’s senior vice president and managing director, according to a Feb. 1 press release. The New York firm, which serves financial services, said Cohen brings more than a decade worth of experience to Martopia and has been an important part of their success.

MERS has named Paul Bognanno as its interim president and CEO after announcing the retirement of current president and CEO R.K. Arnold. Bognanno will lead the search process for a replacement, while Arnold will serve in an advisory capacity during the transition. Bognanno has previously served as chairman of Radian Guaranty, Inc. and president and CEO of Principal Residential Mortgage.

Mortgage Builder Software named Steve Brunworth to its Western region sales team. Brunworth worked previously for LoanSifter and PCLender. He will be managing sales at the Dallas office, the Southfield, Mich.-based mortgage technology firm said.

The Mortgage Success Source this month announced the addition of four new members to its faculty. Derek Egeberg and Jason Klaskin are both branch managers at Academy Mortgage Corp.; Marty Preston is a partner and senior mortgage planner at Benchmark Mortgage; and Karen Swanson is a mortgage planner with Bank of America.

Evan Kouvaras is the new director of customer service at Dallas, Texas-based MRG Document Technologies. Kouvaras’ resume includes management and training positions with Morgan Stanley, RBC Mortgage and Northern Trust Company, the Feb. 15 company announcement said.

MGIC last month announced the promotion of Carie Vos to vice president, claims administration. Vos was most recently director of claims administration and has been with MGIC for 30 years, the Milwaukee, Wis.-based company announcement said.

Platinum Data Solutions hired Ray Petta to lead its brand building and business development. Petta was previously the co-founder and chief operating officer of Rapid Reporting, the Aliso Viejo, Calf.-based technology firm said in a Feb. 23 statement.

Christopher G. Brunetti and William M. Levinthal were promoted to General Counsel for PMI. Brunetti began his career with Walnut Creek, Calif.-based PMI in 1999 and Levinthal joined its legal team in 2003. Both will report to PMI’s General Counsel, Andrew Cameron.

QuestSoft appointed Jim Janczy to regional manager for the Eastern Region, the compliance software and service provider said in a press release. Janczy previously worked as the loss mitigation director for Citibank Mortgage.

Christopher Delfs has been selected to fill the managing director and COO position at Secondary Interactive. Delfs has 30 years capital markets experience and was most recently at Credit Suisse leading its mortgage banking efforts, a Feb. 22 press release said.

The StoneHill Group announced the addition of Paige Petta as business development manager. Petta previously served as regional sales manager for Rapid Reporting.
