U.S. Bancorp plans to add hundreds of employees at a mortgage servicing center in Kentucky.U.S. Bank Home Mortgage announced last week plans to add 300 new employees at a new facility in Owensboro. The company operates its main call center and servicing center in Owensboro.
A spokeswoman told MortgageDaily.com in a statement, “The default resolution area is especially busy right now with the Obama plan.” The hirings “would make U.S. Bank the largest employer in the region,” bringing its full-time headcount in Owensboro to 850 in addition to 100 temporary employees. Available jobs in customer service pay between $8.40 and $9.75 an hour, while positions in investor reporting pay as much as $11.20 an hour, the company said. The spokeswoman noted that there currently are 2,866 employees at U.S. Bank Home Mortgage. Headcount includes mortgage loan officers in branches, servicing employees and call center employees. “This is a great time to reinvest in our infrastructure so that we can keep on providing top-notch service for our existing customers while building for our future mortgage growth,” U.S. Bank Home Mortgage President Dan Arrigoni said in the announcement. The company said it services around $144 billion in mortgages. It ranked as the No. 10 residential mortgage originator during 2008, with $34.1 billion in production. |
