Wells Fargo & Co. will expand its Iowa staff by hundreds.
The San Francisco, Calif.-based lender recently announced it had more than fulfilled its pledge to create 2,000 jobs at its home and consumer finance business in Des Moines, Iowa. And a company spokesman says there is still room for further expansion. While Wells committed with the Iowa Values Fund in July 2003 to bring in 2,000 new jobs over a four-year period, the lender said it had added over 2,200 new team members through March 2006. The hires were reportedly split between Wells Fargo Financial, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and Wells Fargo Consumer Credit Group. And, “currently, the plan is for approximately 3,300 employees to be located in the West Des Moines campus,” Wells spokesman Kevin Waetke said in an e-mailed statement to MortgageDaily.com. Waetke said he did not have additional details at this time. |
