In addition to notifying hundreds of employees in Florida that they will be terminated, Homeward Residential Inc. has advised hundreds of Texas employees that they will suffer the same fate.
The Coppell, Texas-based company filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification last week with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
The notice indicated that 370 employees in Jacksonville will be laid off in April.
Now the Texas Workforce Commission is reporting that Homeward, which previously operated as American Home Mortgage Servicing Inc., filed a WARN notice on Feb. 12.
According to the filing, 300 employees are being eliminated in the Lone Star State.
The date of the planned layoffs is April 15.
The impacted employees are located in Coppell.
Homeward reported in 2009 that it had a staff of 3,000 employees.
Parent Homeward Residential Holdings Inc. was acquired late last year by Ocwen Financial Corp.
Ocwen has a history of slashing jobs after making acquisitions.
