Pacific Beneficial Mortgage Co. was rated as the top lender on the LendingTree network for the third quarter.
The Irvine, Calif.-based mortgage firm moved up from the second spot in the ranking for the second quarter of this year.
LendingTree said it determined the list based on a weighted average of review ratings and the volume of customer reviews.
LendingTree’s network reportedly includes 250 lenders.
The ratings reflect customers’ views on lenders’ interest rates, fees and closing costs, responsiveness, customer service and overall experience.
No. 2 during the latest period was Charlotte, N.C.-based Sebonic Financial — which didn’t even make the top-10 in the previous ranking.
After that was HomePlus Financial. The San Diego-based company lost its No. 1 ranking from the second quarter.
Newcomer New Penn Financial took the fourth spot. The lender operates from Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
No. 5 Austin, Texas-based Innovative Funding Services also wasn’t ranked among the top 10 in the previous report.
No.s 6 through 10, respectively, this time around were Affinity Mortgage LLC, Statewide Mortgage LLC, DLJ Financial Inc., Reliance First Capital LLC and FirstSouth Mortgage LLC.
