Mortgage firms with state licensing can get help using the national registry to file required forms with their respective states at an event being held next week.
State-licensed mortgage companies are required to file a Form MU1 with their state regulators utilizing the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.
NMLS is hosting a workshop to review tips and best practices for efficiently completing and filing Form MU1 through NMLS to their applicable state regulator.
The workshop is being held on March 22 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Eastern.
The registration fee is $75, and no refunds or transfers will be allowed for cancellations that occur within 48 hours of when the session begins.
“The session will cover how to create and complete a company form filing, how control individuals must attest to their individual Form (MU2) and a workflow process to insure that all steps have been completed,” NMLS said in an announcement. “The session will also review resources available on the NMLS Resource Center, including quick guides and state-specific licensing checklists.”
The workshop will additionally cover how to determine state-specific requirements and review state-specific checklists, attestation and the initial financial statement submission process.
Company users and account administrators responsible for submitting the Form MU1 are encouraged to participate — though the workshop is expected to be most helpful for people who are new to the NMLS form filing process.
