Several mortgage-related organizations have recently touted their status among local businesses as those considered to be the best employers.
In the
Partnership for Public Service’s 2015 Best Places to Work report, the National Credit Union Administration said it ranked eight out of 24.
NCUA said it
showed improvement in several key areas of employee satisfaction. Its overall employee satisfaction score rose to 71.7 last year from 69.4 in 2014.
The No. 1 firm among large companies in the Phoenix Business Journal’s 2015 Best Places to Work list was Quicken Loans Inc. for its operations at its Scottsdale Web Center, a Dec. 4 statement said.
Quicken noted that it also held the top Phoenix spot in 2011. The Scottsdale location is home to more than a thousand employees.
Paramount Equity Mortgage LLC reported that “the Phoenix Business Journal has ranked Paramount No. 1 in their annual list of Best Places to Work in 2015.”
Paramount, which is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, said this was “the third time Paramount has been honored as the No. 1 Best Places to Work by The Business Journals.”
Paramount’s Sacramento, California, branch was reportedly on the list from the Sacramento Business Journal.
Mortgage originations exceeded $2 billion in 2015, Paramount reported, and employee count expanded by more than 475 employees last year.
“Paramount expects to match its 2015 growth rate in the coming year and originate more than $4 billion in loan volume,” the statement said.
In Houston, Cornerstone Home Lending Inc. reported that it was chosen to be a Houston Chronicle Top Workplace for 2015, a designation it has attained each year since 2010.
Cornerstone says it is the highest-ranked company among mid-sized mortgage lenders in Houston.
The Chronicle ranking was determined based on employee surveys conducted by WorkplaceDynamics LLC.

Financial Bank Mortgage Division, which has 500 employees in the Detroit area, announced it was awarded a 2015 Top Workplaces, Workplace Achiever honor by the Detroit Free Press. It was reportedly the third year in a row on the list.
The Free Press also relied on data collected by WorkplaceDynamics.
Another Detroit-area firm, United Shore, announced it was
named the gold winner in the Best Place to Work – Large Companies category in the 2015 Best in Biz Awards, an independent business awards program judged by the press and industry analysts. Headcount at Troy-based United Shore reportedly exceeds 1,300.
