Among recently recognized best employers were several mortgage banking firms, a pair of banks and a mortgage service provider. One home lender has been designated as a “cool” employer.
United Shore Financial Services LLC has made the Cool Places to Work 2017 list from Crain Communications Inc. The 2,100-employee staff as of June 30 is limited to 40-hour work weeks.
The Birmingham, Michigan-based company is cool because of its on-site Starbucks, a gourmet cafeteria and a convenience store. It also has an annual fair for employees and their families, as well as a daily dance party.

named a 2017 Best Place to Work by Providence Business News for the 12th consecutive year, according to an Aug. 22 announcement.

Churchill Mortgage Corp. has made the The Tennessean’s Top Workplace list. The employee-owned organization says it is dedicated to providing its employees with significant benefits and the best work experience possible.
Brentwood, Tennessee-based Churchill
reported a staff of 362 people as of June 30.
The Tennessean ranking was based on an employee-feedback survey conducted by WorkplaceDynamics LLC.
On Tuesday, Pittsburgh-based First National Bank announced it was named a 2017 Greater Pittsburgh Area Top Workplace in the large company category. It’s reportedly the seventh time on the list for FNB. The ranking was also based on a WorkplaceDynamics survey.
American Banker ranked HomeBanc as the No. 2 Best Banks to Work For, according to a news release Monday. It’s the third consecutive year in the second slot for the Tampa, Florida-based bank.
The
ranking of bank employers was conducted in coordination with Best Companies Group and based on an employee survey and an analysis of workplace policies, practices and demographics.
A July 20 news release indicated that Black Knight Financial Services was recognized by the Jacksonville Business Journal as a Best Place to Work in Jacksonville, Florida. The service provider was one of 10 extra large companies — firms with between 250 and 9.999 employees — that made the list.

Knight Chief Human Resources Officer Melissa Circelli said in the statement that the company has implemented changes to improve employees’ work life and environment over the past few years. The changes include longer vacations, additional time off and more training.
