Several mid-level executive appointments have been made by a number of growing mortgage bankers, while more senior level management roles have been filled at smaller firms.

An Oct. 1 press release said that Michael H. Wilson was hired by loanDepot LLC as senior vice president, information technology.
Wilson was on the payroll of Option One Mortgage Corp. from 2001 through 2003, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Irvine, California-based loanDepot additionally noted that Tony Jenkins
was brought on as senior vice president, software engineering.

loanDepot-subsidiary imortgage promoted
Dan Peña to senior vice president of national joint ventures, a Sept. 21 news release said. He originally joined Scottsdale, Arizona-based imortgage in September 2000.

The new
senior vice president of consumer direct sales at Guaranteed Rate Inc. is Fred Quick, a news release earlier this month said. Quick, who joined the Chicago-based firm in July, previously worked at loanDepot and Nationstar Mortgage.

John Costa was hired by Embrace Home Loans to be its regional lending executive for the Tri-State area of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, a Sept.. 23 statement said. Costa most-recently worked at Weichert Financial Services and spent 17 years at PHH Mortgage before that.

New Penn Financial announced last month that
Jim McDiarmid was recruited to be its east coast division manager, third party originations. With three decades in mortgage banking, McDiarmid’s prior employers include JPMorgan Chase & Co., Option One Mortgage Corp. and Washington Mutual.

Theresa Flores was hired by New Penn as area sales manager in Austin, Texas. New Penn highlighted Flores’ 12 years at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage as the reason for her hiring. She also spent nearly two years at Bank of Texas.

At First Guaranty Mortgage Corp., Nicholas Imbimbo was recruited from Bank of Oklahoma to be director of third-party originations operations, according to a statement earlier this month. Imbimbo’s other prior employers include Fannie Mae and Full Spectrum Lending.

J. Lynn Beckstead Jr. will retire on Jan. 1, 2016, from his position as president of SecurityNational Mortgage Co., parent Security National Financial Corp. reported Tuesday. In addition, Kenneth Parr retired as chief financial officer of Salt Lake City-based lender.

Stepping in as SecurityNational’s new president is Stephen Johnson, who has been the firm’s chief operating officer since 2002. Johnson joined the company 15 years ago.

The mortgage banker’s new CFO is Jacob Banks, who has been with SecurityNational for a decade — most recently as controller.

Sue Weaver was promoted to regional sales manager
for Seattle at RPM Mortgage Inc., where she has worked since May, according to an announcement last month. Her more than quarter-century in the industry also included time at Cobalt Mortgage and M&T Bank.

RPM reports a servicing portfolio of more than
$3 billion.

Former Securities and Exchange Commission chairman Arthur Levitt has become an advisor to SoFi, a Sept. 10 press release said. The San Francisco-based firm
originates both home loans and student loans.

An Oct. 1 announcement from McLean Mortgage Corp. said Greg Crocker has been hired as CFO.
His nearly two decades in the business included senior executive positions at Taylor Bean & Whitaker Mortgage Corp. and Pinnacle Financial. Crocker replaces Thomas Marvaso, who is retiring. (this entry has been corrected; the original entry mistakenly said that Thomas Marvaso has been hired as CFO)

In Tulsa, Oklahoma, Scott Henley will serve as
chief production officer of Gateway Mortgage Group, a statement late last month said. He went to work for Gateway in 2011, and his more than 20 years in mortgage lending included stints at Bank of America Home Loans and Countrywide Home Loans.

The newly appointed president at Fay Mortgage Services is Patrick Norton, a statement Monday said. Norton was promoted from his job as senior vice president of account management. While Norton lists no job on his LinkedIn profile for more than two years prior to joining Fay in 2011, he previously worked for Countrywide Home Loans and Household International during his 18-year career.

Fay Mortgage, a unit of Fay Servicing LLC, said it appointed Greg Reed to fill
Norton’s open position. Before joining Fay Servicing in October 2013, Reed worked at several firms including WestStar Mortgage and Supreme Lending. He has two decades’ experience in home lending.
