Hundreds of new employees are being hired by Freedom Mortgage Corp., and educational institutions are being targeted for the new recruits.
An announcement this week said Freedom is actively recruiting and training its next generation of executives through a college recruitment and training program.
Dubbed the First Flyer program, the initiative was launched in January to meet growing staffing needs and
add fresh perspectives to its workforce.
“Each month, a new class of recruits was placed in an existing cohort to co-mingle with the existing group,” the statement said. “The program is managed by an executive staff, cohort leaders who manage and guide their teams, and coaches matched to help mentor and guide each participant.”
Initially, recruits are being sought from colleges and universities in Florida, Maryland and New Jersey.
The Mount Laurel, New Jersey-based lender noted that there are a hundred employees already in the program, and 22 are licensed loan originators.
Freedom Mortgage Vice President Public Relations Audrey Shapiro said in an interview that 400 positions will immediately be filled through the program.
Staffing at Freedom already stands at 3,500 employees, according to Shapiro.
