A thousand jobs are being added at several offices across the country as loanDepot LLC expands strategic locations. But the expansion isn’t limited to mortgages.
The Irvine, California-based mortgage banker announced Monday that it has nearly doubled the size of its biggest production center located in Orange County, California.
With the added space, loanDepot now
occupies more than 885,162 square feet across the country. Making up some of that space are production centers in the Dallas, Nashville and Phoenix areas in addition to the Southern California location.
The news release said that an additional 1,000 employees are being hired who “will deliver exceptional high-touch, high-tech service to borrowers.”
Headcount already exceeds 4,000 people, including 1,300 licensed loan officers.
Business is generated from four high-tech business centers and 130 local branches.
Home lending volume from the consumer retail channel exceeds $2.5 billion per month, according to the statement. loanDepot claims to be “the nation’s second largest nonbank consumer home loan lender.”
loanDepot said its growth strategy includes the addition of non-mortgage product lines and an increase in existing business-channel growth.
Also in the business plan are home-improvement loan programs which are expected to be available during the current quarter.
loanDepot LLC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Anthony Hsieh explained in the announcement that the expanded capacity reflects a strong brand and growing demand.
“As the economy continues to improve, so does consumer confidence and consumer demand for credit,” Hsieh said.
