Expansion plans for Movement Mortgage LLC’s headquarters has the fast-growing company adding hundreds of new employees in the upcoming years.
On Wednesday, the home lender broke ground on a new 90,000-square-foot building on the same Fort Mill, South Carolina, property where its headquarters is located.
With the second building, which will cost it $18 million, the size of its national sales
support center will double. The building is expected to open in January 2019.
“Among its amenities will be a larger gym, a cafe and a courtyard between the first building and the new one,” an announcement Wednesday said.
Movement, which previously reported a company-wide staff of 4,279 as of Sept. 30, said it will hire 700 new employees at its headquarters during the next five years.
The planned hirings are in over and above
200 job additions planned over the next three years in Norfolk, Virginia,
“Relationships matter and proximity matters,” Movement Mortgage Chief Executive Officer Casey Crawford said in the statement. “When we get team members face-to-face at the same location, we see exponential productivity. Despite a contracting mortgage market, we’ve continued to take market share across the United States and we plan on continuing to grow in 2018 and well into the future.”
