A former contender for the Republican presidential nomination is being considered to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
In addition to being a brain surgeon, Dr. Ben Carson also ran against President-Elect
Donald J. Trump in the Republican primary race for POTUS.
Carson, who attended Yale University, dropped out of the GOP race for the president
in March 2016 and threw his support behind Trump.
Carson’s loyalty to Trump might have paid off.
On Tuesday, Trump indicated that Carson is being considered for HUD secretary.
“I am seriously considering Dr. Ben Carson as the head of HUD,” Trump said on his Twitter feed today. “I’ve gotten to know him well — he’s a greatly talented person who loves people.”
As head of HUD, Carson would oversee the Federal Housing Administration.
