A diminishing need for employees who handle distressed loans has led to more layoffs at Ditech Financial LLC — this time in South Texas.
The Tampa, Florida-based company said in a statement Tuesday that it has re-evaluated it operating mode and resigned servicing roles.
As a result, some servicing and technology functions are being consolidated to larger operations sites to improve business-wide efficiency.
Ditech released the statement in response to a disclosure that 65 layoffs
are planned on Sept. 21 for employees in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Ditech
confirmed in a written statement Wednesday that another round of servicing layoffs are taking place in the Lone Star State.
Seventy-eight Ditech employees in San Antonio, Texas, are impacted by the job cuts.
Ditech confirmed that the last day for the employees is Sept. 21.
Ditech is a subsidiary
of Walter Mortgage Investment Management
Corp.
The San Antonio Business Journal first reported the layoffs.
