Recently released enhanced technology for mobile devices is intended to benefit mortgage originators, prospective borrowers and real estate agents.
Earlier this month, the American Bankers Association highlighted a dozen steps that consumers can take to protect data on their mobile devices.
The Washington-based trade group explained that as consumer use of mobile devices has continued to grow, so has the number of cyber criminals.
Among the steps were logging out of mobile banking sessions, utilizing security software and downloading updates for phones and applications.
ABA suggested using caution when downloading applications, avoiding storing sensitive information on mobile devices
and advising financial institutions immediately when a phone is lost, a number changed or fraud is suspected.
The trade group warned about people who look over someone’s shoulder while using a device, and said to avoid doing banking transactions on insecure public WI-Fi connections.
In January, a news release indicated that MobileMLO can be downloaded by borrowers for their iPhones. In addition to viewing their real-time loan status, borrowers can scan documents and send them to their loan originators.
Originators pay $9.99 a month for the service so that an unlimited number of borrower clients can gain access. The application was created by John R. Cushma, himself a loan officer.
Optimal Blue announced QuickSearch last month. The technology promises to provide borrowers, loan originators and Realtors rapid access to rates and products.
“A configurable quick search form displays the fields that are most important and relevant to the company’s business, while configurable results are displayed based on unique product offerings,” the Plano, Texas-based company stated. “Comprehensive Lead Capture functionality equates to search criteria and member inputs automatically populating as a prospect in the LOs pipeline, while users also benefit from valuable resources such as consumer specific product and pricing alerts, and pre-populating email results.”
CoreLogic Inc. recently announced a host of new features being made available to agents who utilize its GoMLS. Among the new features is an expansion of mobile capabilities.
“GoMLS gives real estate agents and consumers access to in-depth listing and property data using their Apple iPhone, iPad and Google Android devices,” CoreLogic said. “Agents can extend mobile search functionality to their clients with an agent-branded app that lets them collaborate on the home search process.”
