The U.S. mortgage banking subsidiary of The Toronto-Dominion Bank has hired a seasoned executive with nearly three decades in financial services to run the unit.
A news release Wednesday from TD Bank indicated that Rick Bechtel
has been appointed executive vice president, head of U.S. mortgage banking.
Bechtel, who joined the
Cherry Hill, New Jersey-based organization in October, reportedly has more than 27 years of banking and management experience.

Back in late 2015, TD Bank announced plans to hire nearly 80 mortgage loan officers.
“The bank’s strategy to aggressively hire dynamic mortgage loan officers across its entire footprint, as well as to implement a suite of new technology that increases efficiency, accuracy and speed, is testament to the strong commitment we have to growing our mortgage business in the years to come,” Bechtel said in the statement.
TD Bank additionally indicated that

Linder’s three decades in financial service included jobs at Chase and The Bank of New York. He also started with TD Bank in October.
