Mortgage company Ditech Financial LLC is ceasing its collections operations in Earth City, Missouri, and laying off 103 employees.

Ditech, a subsidiary of Tampa, Florida-based Walter Investment Management Corp., notified Missouri officials of the layoffs this month in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification document.

The federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act requires employers to provide advance notice of plant closings and mass layoffs, and reports on planned layoffs are released on the state’s website, jobs.mo.gov.

According to Ditech’s letter filed with the state’s Department of Economic Development, 102 jobs at its Earth City office at 1 Rider Trail Plaza Drive will be permanently eliminated effective July 1, and a vice president’s layoff is effective Sept. 2.
