Wells Fargo & Co. has named an insider to a newly created role that will have him overseeing all of the company’s retail home lending operation.
The San Francisco-based financial institution has created a new mortgage executive position: head of home lending retail.
The new retail chief will
oversee nearly 15,000 retail production employees in mortgage and home-equity sales, underwriting, fulfillment and support functions.
In an announcement Thursday, Wells Fargo said it has appointed
Perry Hilzendeger to the new position.
Hilzendeger started with Wells Fargo 28 years ago. While most recently he has been in servicing-related jobs, he also has worked in fulfillment, sales and sales management.
He’ll report to Michael DeVito, who is head of Wells Fargo Home Lending.
Hilzendeger, who based in Des Moines, Iowa, will leave his position as executive vice president of home lending servicing to start his new job on April 16.
Taking over Hilzendeger’s current servicing role on an interim basis as Wells Fargo searches for a permanent replacement will be Gui Kahl, who is
currently senior vice president for servicing change delivery.
