Residential lending activity for the first six months of this year at loanDepot LLC already exceeds what the company closed during all of last year.
Mortgage originations at the
Foothill Ranch, California-based firm totaled $7.9 billion during the three months ended June 30.
Home lending increased compared to the first quarter of this year, when $6.4 billion in originations were generated.
loanDepot’s operational numbers are based on the Second Quarter 2015 Mortgage Origination Survey that was conducted by Mortgage Daily.
The latest period’s production brought year-to-date 2015 volume to $14.3 billion — surpassing the $13.2 billion in production for all of last year.
loanDepot noted in a written statement that fist-half originations were 165 percent ahead of business during the first-six months of last year.
No current data on mortgage servicing was provided by loanDepot, though the total portfolio was last reported at $14 billion as of Sept. 30, 2014.
As of the end of the second-quarter 2015, loanDepot said its national staff exceeded 4,300 employees.
Headcount expanded from March 31, when more than 4,000 people were on the payroll.
As of the end of last year, loanDepot reported over 3,700 employees.
